This is a drawing that I had drawn on Tux-Paint to describe a metaphor of a bright orange scarf on fire but visually

My Metaphors

My Description

Staring at the sky while the clouds went by with no self-belief, watching children play with laughter and happiness, their parents cooking sausages and patties on the BBQ. Watching the sea crash up against the rocks in devastation. Cars and trucks tumble across the dirt road with truck workers or aunts and cousins inside, the grass is a crazy jungle gym of monkeys, brunches fly across the jungle gym with cheeky smiles on their faces.

Smelt the smell of the patties and sausages creeping up my nose, the smell of the ocean made me puke. The dirt smell spread all around the park, my nose felt like it was going to die at that last minute. But luckily the scent of a flower whisked around my nose my nose was saved.

Hearing the whistling of the wind hurt my ears, listening to the calling of the species that live among the sea crying to me help. Conversations and gossip surrounded me, hearing people say mean things about me like “What a freak.”, “Weirdo.” Little kids spoke to me with inappropriate language.

I felt cramped in a box, I could never get out I told myself. My feelings were hurt in indescribable ways.  My fingertips were numb so was my heart. My face felt damp with drips of rain slowly falling from the sheets of the atmosphere.

I thought to myself all this wasn’t worth it so, I sprinted back home and hugged my mum and dad cold and shivering being thankful that they were still in my life, my eyes sunk like quicksand wanting me to go to sleep .

Mark Lowndes Interview

On Wednesday the 13th of February our class and room 7 were lucky enough to interview Mark Lowndes. We had experienced a once in a lifetime interview which was awesome because
Mark Lowndes is a very soulful man and loves writing poetry.  More interesting facts our classroom and room 7  found out about him was that he was inspired by his mother to sing, he has been singing for about 12 years now. He has had music in his life ever since he was a child music ran through his house every single day after school these facts are handy because many children in our class and room 7 want to be singers. We were also ultra lucky because he sang us a song called the No Goodbyes. He left us with the message everyone in this room has a great destiny and don’t stop believing.

I loved this interview because this might come in handy for my voice and when I’m older.

Individual Description

Hi my name is Destiny Jacqueline Rererangi Rupene and I am 11 years old. I am Maori, Fijian.  I come from Rotuma on the Fijian side and I come from a iwi (tribe) called Ngati-Porou on the Maori side. I am the middle child, I have dark brown curly hair and brown lovely eyes with brown olive skin.

I come from a family of six, I am the Daughter of Amoi Rupene and Dwain Ngaro.  I have 2 sisters named Teina Noble who is 15 and Nature Rupene who is 8. I have 2 brothers named Alex Harrison who is 12 and one other brother that I have never made contact with, named Linken who is 17 years old.

I come from Panmure/Glen Innes.Panmure is a kind and generous township where you can go shopping for clothes and stuff you might need inside the house. On the other hand, Glen Innes is a way more fun and an exciting place you can go to grab really yum food that makes your mouth water like bakery pies, chicken nibbles and lots of other treats that are way too delicious to describe.

My hobbies are hanging out with my two best friends Bella and Ngatokurua -  they are twins, together we watch movies with the family, eat ice-cream and bake  a lot.  For my cultural interests I like to sing Maori songs and do the poi to waiata.

The one thing that I am most definitely dreaming about is being an Architect or a Flight Attendant. My biggest fear at TPS is face planting down the stairs.
